About the Job
The Business Analytics team at KeyCorp is working on transforming the model deployment and monitoring process to be more compatible with open source technologies and cloud environment, and is looking for a Lead Machine Learning Engineer that will take the charge towards this goal. The Lead Machine Learning Engineer will be leading the Model Implementation and Production team as part of the Decision Sciences team. He/she will be responsible for building and managing the full production pipeline to support implementation/scoring of models, model performance monitoring, analytics and reporting.

The Decision Sciences team is part of the Business Analytics Center of Expertise, supporting all line of business (Deposits, Credit Card, Home Lending, Auto, Unsecured Loan, Private Banking, and Financial Wellness.

We focus on

  • Understanding business context and problems in order to design solutions and provide analytical guidance to the business
  • Exploring and extracting valuable information from raw data
  • Applying statistics, machine learning and analytic approaches to solve critical business problems
  • Designing new algorithms and handle big data to build innovative machine learning end to end solutions

We build advanced analytics solutions leveraging techniques such as Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing and Deep Learning, in a soon to be Cloud environment to support business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Defining the next generation operating framework for model implementation and performance monitoring
  • Creating standardized and efficient process for implementing and supporting complex statistical and machine learning models in a production environment
  • Defining the framework for rapid refresh of machine learning models and operational approach as well as creating alerts for performance degradation
  • Building appropriate controls to ensure model robustness and stability
  • Developing analytics around model results and work closely with a body of audiences such as model developers, audit, model risk, regulatory agencies, management and end users to generate model related technical documentation and analysis
  • Establishing strong controls and creating consistent and robust execution processes across models
  • Maintaining documentation for key implementation processes across the team with focus on standardization of implementation and execution controls
  • Leading and developing team members, including offshore resources
  • Establishing and cultivating relationships with the lines of business, model users, data, and model development teams

Required Qualifications

  • PhD or MS in heavy quantitative field: engineering, computer science, machine learning, operational research
  • 5+ years of model implementation and analytics experience
  • Experience in developing model automation and monitoring processes
  • Experience in code optimization and version control
  • Strong experience with Python, SAS, SQL, R, Java, and Unix scripting
  • Experience with other programming languages (C, C++, Scala, PySpark)
  • Experience in parallel and/or distributed processing
  • Experience with Big Data environment, Cloud experience preferred
  • Experience in developing and defining analytical methodologies
  • Experience building controls and quality checks around data, processes, programs, and results
  • Extensive hands-on data analysis and reporting experience with large data sets
  • Ability to synthesize in depth analysis into reports for presentation to management to aid in decision making
  • Experienced in effective management and execution of large-scale model development projects.
  • Excellent communications skills – internally and externally
